Supporting Evidence for Portfolio

Creative Boom PowerPoint Slide

I Initially made a slide for my presentation showcasing supporting research I have done in my own time, this research was from an article published on creative boom about brands custom typography. This article explains how custom typography went from a luxury asset to a necessary one as more and more businesses overuse the same pre-set typefaces. This is because it helps with brand recognition as the typeface used will be unique to the business and through repeated exposure to people through advertisement will create a mental link inside the mind.

Junior Graphic Designer Job Listings

In this slide I placed my research on various listed Junior Graphic Designer roles using websites such as google and ifyoucouldjobs.com. These jobs has common requirements which I’ve listen in the slide above such as a strong portfolio and at least one years experience. This research helped me focus on what needs to be included in my proposal.

Group Review Page

This photo shows a mind-map created by my peers inside of a group activity together where I presented my proposal to them. This then led to them giving feedback and asking further questions about my proposal to answer questions I may have not thought about myself, such as why my candle brief exists and the impact it may cause. This exercise was beneficial as I was forced to consider further aspects of my brief I haven’t thought about before.

These two screenshots show the two versions of my creative brief. The left side is my first draft where I listed a overview about various important topics such as “target audience” and “about the company”. However after feedback I merged the “about the company” section with the overview as they are similar subjects and makes the brief look more visually pleasing. I also rearranged the the hierarchy of the text as I believe the scope and objective should be last as describing the deliverables is much more clear after reading the previous context such as target audience and competitors.
